The county of Renfrew is increasing taxes on homeowners.
They have passed a budget that will see a levy increase of $9 per $100,000 of the value of your home. Based on the average value of a home, a typical homeowner would see an increase of $18.41 in 2021.
The County says the 2.5 percent increase will help the county continue to deliver their social and paramedic services, as well as continue to operate their long term care homes. They say the increase will also continue to fund RC VTAC. The budget also contains investment in social housing, long term care, and road construction. Finance Committee Chair Jennifer Murphy said that County staff has presented a very effective and efficient budget.
