Water In Snow Pack Average For This Time of Year, Says Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry
For those wondering about how bad flooding will be during the spring, there is a ray of hope.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has said the amount of water in the snowpack is average for mid-January in areas around Renfrew County and Pembroke. However, Jolanta Kowalski with the ministry says snowpack isn’t the only factor that predicts flooding. Other factors like extreme weather conditions and heavy rainfall will indicate how severe the spring freshet will be.
Environment Canada has said that precipitation has been average so far this winter.
