Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Cushman has delivered a report to Renfrew County about the state of COVID-19 in the district.

He says despite the outbreak in Whitewater region, the caseload in Renfrew County managed to stay low enough to avoid a high public health lockdown level than green. Cushman thanked members of council for their help building the trust of the community where the outbreak occurred. During the presentation, he says that schools were not a factor in the spread of the coronavirus, with only a few cases at schools reported.  He insisted that schools are very safe places to be, and says that they were monitoring them closely.

During the presentation, Cushman fielded questions about the vaccine rollout and the future of RC VTAC. Council offered their help with vaccine distribution and counted on Cushman’s help in making sure they could secure funding to continue the Renfrew County Virtual Triage.
