A number of outbreaks that had popped up across Renfrew County and District have been declared over.

The Health Unit says those who tested positive for the coronavirus in Whitewater Region, Pembroke Regional Hospital, Miramichi Lodge and the esthetician workplace in Petawawa have completed their two-week isolation and have since tested negative. In addition, the RCDHU says there was no serious illness requiring hospitalization in any of the outbreaks.

Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Cushman would like to extend his thanks to all involved with keeping the outbreaks under control, saying that some RCDHU staff had to work long hours 7 days a week to conduct contact tracing. He says that all precautions were taken to limit the spread during all outbreaks. He says this is a good example of how we can stop the spread of COVID-19.

As of January 11th, there is 1 outbreak active in Renfrew County and District. 27 cases are in self-isolation.
