CEO of St. Francis Memorial Hospital Julia Boudreau has confirmed that a member of their healthcare team has tested Positive for COVID-19.

However, due to the low risk to the public, she says things like visiting hours will not change. Boudreau says because it has not been declared an outbreak, there is no need to make changes to visiting hours or operating procedures. However, she does say that there is constant communication between her and the RCDHU to help make those decisions, and healthcare teams are working closely to make sure the spread stays contained.

Boudreau says that staff and physicians at St. Francis have done a great job at implementing occupational health and safety measures in the facility. She would like to thank external partners, as well as the healthcare workers for implementing these measures.

Meanwhile, cases continue to climb in the Madawaska Valley. Currently, there are 7 active COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 15 in the township. This makes it the largest share of active cases in Renfrew County, where the current total sits at 27 active cases.
