MPP Yakabuski Pushing Highway 17 Twinning

Local MPP John Yakabuski is continuing his campaign to have the twinning of Highway 17 on a five-year plan with the government.
Yakabuski prodded Ontario Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca at Question Period in Toronto, as to whether or not he is willing to commit to the project.
Del Duca countered that he was positive for the continuation of twinning Highway 17, but wouldn’t commit to a timeline.
Yakabuski led a delegation to meet with Del Duca earlier this month to press the issue.
He reminded Del Duca of how important the highway was to the economy of Renfrew County.
Construction is expected to continue this spring on the current work being done to extend the highway to Scheel Drive.
