The Renfrew County District Health Unit says they have dolled out fines for people breaking self-isolation rules.
They say two people violated a section 22 order and as such, were given fines of $875 each. Section 22 states that you need to begin self-isolating immediately if you have been a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19, have signs or symptoms of Covid 19, or are considered a close contact.
Dr. Robert Cushman, Acting Medical Officer of Health, says the unit cannot stress enough how important it is that everyone continue to do their part during the pandemic.
