The Renfrew County District health unit is explaining what the new restrictions will mean for the region.

They say that in terms of the lockdown, the district is considered a part of Southern Ontario. That means that restrictions may only be lifted after 28 days of lockdown. In terms of school, in-person learning will return on January 11th for elementary and January 25th for secondary schools.  Child care services will remain open like the rest of the province.

The RCDHU is once again urging residents to stay home when sick and follow all public health guidelines on handwashing, physical distancing and mask-wearing. They also say that workers and students should conduct a self-assessment every day to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19
