The township of Madawaska Valley is celebrating their long-serving employees and firefighters.

The 2020 Municipal Service Awards recognize the efforts, skills and expertise of staff who have served the township for many years. Among those recognized include Raymond Mask, Facility Manager at the Paul J Yakabuski center, for 35 years of on the job. David Afelskie, the retired first fire chief of Madawaska Valley, was also recognized for his 35 years of service.

Other recipients include Kenny Shalla, an equipment operator for the township who has worked there for 20 years. Deputy Clerk Gwen Dombroski, and volunteer firefighters Matthew Baklinski and Richard Palubeski were also recognized for their ten years of service.
