Single COVID-19 Case In Pembroke Could Lead to Many Others, says RCDHU
Update: The RCDHU has seen a spike of 12 OVID-19 cases in the Pembroke Area.
The Renfrew County District Health Unit is warning of a potential surge in cases after a positive case appeared in Pembroke.
The RCDHU says a tightly knit community of 30 families are considered close contacts of the single case. The Unit says they are currently conducting extensive family by family tracing to evaluate how much the virus has spread throughout the community.
Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Cushman says they are taking all precautions to limit spread within the community and the district. Dr. Cushman says the Unit thanks the community and their leaders for their full cooperation.
