Madawaska Valley Township Looking Into Firework Limits

Madawaska Valley Township is looking into putting limitations on fireworks.

Council voted to direct staff to reassess the township’s noise bylaw to include fireworks at certain times. Township staff will put together a law that will restrict what times a firework can be set off, and see if the town should issue permits. The proposal would see fireworks limited to weekend use only unless deemed to be a significant event or Canada Day. They also say that there could be an educational component of the new legislation.

No timeline has been given as to when this will be put into law.
