Last Case of COVID-19 in Barry’s Bay Considered Resolved, Bishop Smith CS Declares Outbreak

Some good news and some bad news on the Covid front today in Renfrew county.

Bishop Smith Catholic school in Pembroke has declared an outbreak after a staff member tested positive for covid-19. With two confirmed cases, the school meets the threshold for an outbreak, but the school still remains open for in-person learning. The RCDHU has begun contact tracing and close contacts are being informed.

However, the number of active cases in the district is down today with nine listed as in self-isolation. Here in the Barry’s Bay area, the single active case has been considered resolved. Barry’s Bay joins the Arnprior and Renfrew Areas as places in the district with no active cases.
