Killaloe OPP were called out to a sudden death in Algonquin Park.
Police responded to a report of a capsized canoe on Saturday around 4:20 PM. Two of three males in the canoe were towed to shore safely after their canoe hit rough waters and was overturned on Opeongo Lake. However, a 32 year old man from Toronto was pulled from the water unconscious. Police say that witnesses and conservation officers tried to resuscitate him. The man was transported to hospital where he later died.
A postmortem has been ordered, but police deemed the incident non-suspicious at this time. The deceased was part of a larger group in the park. Police say the deceased was wearing a life jacket.
