Time is running out for the Denbigh ambulance base.
Lennox and Addington County is considering closing the base again after Renfrew County refused a request to cover more of the operation costs.
The base costs $750,000 a year to run, and on average 32 of the 133 calls the base gets per year are dispatched to Renfrew County.
Other counties who were approached to up financial support refused, since it wasn’t in-line with the established practice of paying for actual cross border ambulance calls.
If the base closes, Lennox and Addington will continue servicing their county out of the newer Northbrook ambulance base.
