Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Release Long Weekend Road Stats

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP have released their stats from their long weekend blitz.

Over the labour day weekend they conducted a safety campaign against distracted, impaired and aggressive driving, as well as lack of seat-belts. OPP says during that time, they laid 76 speeding charges and 12 hazardous moving violations. There were four seat-belt charges and two charges laid under the Compulsory Auto Insurance Act. In addition two drivers were charged with stunt driving and had their licences suspended.

OPP Remind drivers that while the long weekend blitz is over, they remain committed to traffic safety and education year round.
