Madawaska Valley Lifts Fire Ban, Permit Burning Now Allowed

The Madawaska Valley Township Fire Ban has been lifted.
This means nighttime burning will be allowed with a permit. Campfires or fires for warmth may be lit without a permit so long as they are under 2 feet by 2 feet. Anything larger than that must have a permit. No fires or burning may be lit 2 hours before sunset and must be extinguished 2 hours after sunrise. Campfires must follow this regulation as well.
Fire Permits are $10 and are in effect for 3 days. A fine for burning without a permit is $615 for the first offence. A second offence can come with a 1 year ban, and a third can result in an individual being banned from burning for life.
