The Pandemic may have stopped many events, but the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation’s fall fundraising season is still a go.

The Foundation’s silent auction will be online this year. Auction bids will be accepted until September 4th at 4 PM. The bidding will go until the new Virtual Charity Event, which replaces the Annual Golf Tournament. The Virtual Event will start at 1 PM on September 4th at the Wolf Ridge Golf Course. It will include a welcoming video, Facebook Live updates, and a putting challenge lead by Foundation volunteers. Past teams have been asked to contribute to a match-it program, where every dollar they contribute will be matched by major sponsors.

50 local businesses have pitched in to offer prizes and auction items, including Home Hardware, Metro, The Sands and Spectacle Lake Lodge, among many others. Coordinator Rosanne Hoffman Prizes include many articles of clothing, including Wolf Ridge T-shirts, quilts, artwork featuring local artist, hair styling products, wine making kits, hockey memorabilia, cords of wood, gravel, handmade items, a charcoal barbecue and many gift cards to local businesses.

The money will go directly to funding local healthcare. St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation Executive Director Erin Gienow says the funds will go to the purchase of Evacusleds, which are used in emergency situations. In addition, Gienow wished to thank coordinator Rosanne Hoffman and all the volunteers who are making the fundraising happen this year. She also says she has been overwhelmed by the amount of support local donors have pitched in. She says this would have been the 16th annual tournament, if had not been cancelled.

You can find the online auction here.  You can also donate by calling 613-756-3045 ext. 217. You can also mail a check to SFVH Foundation at P.O. Box 129, Barry’s Bay, Ont., K0J 1B0, and make it out to SFVH Foundation.
