MVFD Deals with Major Combermere Fire

The Madawaska Valley Fire Department had to deal with a raging fire on Saturday.
The department says that around noon they responded to a structure, vehicle and tractor fire at the 200 block of Perrier Road in Combermere. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the car and tractor fully engulfed, and fire breaching the walls. A resident and retired firefighter checked the house beforehand and found no one in the house at the time. The MVFD says that the fire seems to have started in the car, then spread to the home and tractor.
They say that firefighters were on constant rotation, with hear reaching up to almost a thousand degrees fahrenheit. The fire brought out paramedics, hydro, OPP and Madawaska Valley Public Works. In all the fire department responded with two pumper trucks, two tankers, 1 rescue truck, and 28 firefighters. The estimated loss of the fire is pegged and $320,000.
