Ontario adds 99 new COVID-19 cases

Ontario is reporting close to 100 new COVID-19 cases to begin the work week.

Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Christine Elliott tweeted Monday morning that the province added 99 new cases over the last day.

The number of new cases is similar to the reporting over the weekend; Saturday saw 106 while Sunday had 81.

Elliott says over 25,000 tests were processed over the last day.

Locally, 29 of 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases, with 21 of them reporting no new cases.

The death toll remains at 2,789 with no new deaths added.

Ontario now has 40,745 confirmed cases, with 90.9 per cent considered resolved.
