April is Cancer Awareness Month

The Canadian Cancer Societys local branch wants to continue helping area residents, now and in the future.
This comes as Cancer Awareness Month is being recognized in April.
Community Fundraising Specialist for Hastings, Prince Edward and Brighton Brad Warner says the societys latest goal is to pass a bill which would have the province provide funding for take-home cancer drugs.
Other provinces already offer government-funded take-home cancer treatment.
Warner says, in the area, the service also provides the Wheels of Hope transportation program.
