Money from the Ontario Government will help Renfrew County give its economy a boost.
MPP of Renfrew Nipissing Pembroke John Yakabuski announced that over $14,000 will be invested into the County. The money will go towards hosting career fairs, employee tours, and to develop a rural transit ride-share program. Money will also be spent to support on-farm value added products. In addition, the town of Renfrew will receive $2700 to design, fabricate and install way-finding signs and add public WiFi to the downtown area.
MPP Yakabuski says that it will provide modern amenities and help attract tourists, increase business and attract investor. Yakabuski says the investment will support local jobs and encourage economic growth in Renfrew County. He says supporting local jobs and removing barriers to investment and economic growth in rural economies are more important than ever.
The funds come from the Ontario Government’s Rural Economic Development Program, which invests $3.3 million into rural and indigenous communities to diversify their economies.
