Area Students Honoured For Commitment

Students from our local Catholic school board have been awarded for their commitment to their communities.
Two students from the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board received the Beacon of Hope awards at a ceremony held at the Granite in Bancroft yesterday.
Julia Yakabuski, from Madawaska Valley, was the recipient of the award representing St. Martin of Tours in Whitney.
Ryan Jenkins, a grade eight student from Our Lady of Mercy in Bancroft, was the other recipient of the award.
This was one of six award ceremonies held by the school board.
