A new sales record was set for the month of June as the Canadian Real Estate Association says home sales in Renfrew County are continuing to surge.

There were a total of 305 units sold in June, which is a near 30-percent jump from the same time last year. CREA notes that this is also a new sales record for the month and the highest level for any month in the County’s history.

June 2020 was also the first month in history to have over 300 units sold during it.

The price of a home in the County went up 12 and a half percent last month when compared to June 2019 to an average of $298,052. The price is also up when looking at the first six months of the year compared to last year. The average price of a home has gone up nine percent to $289,838.

While last month was historic, the first six months of the year are still down when compared to last year. A total of 955 units have been sold, which is down four percent from last year.
