OSPCA introduces new limited contact adoptions

Animal adoptions from the Ontario SPCA are happening again, with new protocols in place.

The animal centres across the province have rolled out new limited contact adoptions.

Chief of Humane Programs and Community Outreach at the OSPCA, Daryl Vaillancourt, says potential adopters can expect the same thorough, thoughtful and compassionate adoption experience that the Ontario SPCA has always delivered.

Potential adopters can see adoptable animals on the Ontario SPCA’s website here and fill out the Meet Your Match survey to help match with an animal. Adopters can email their local shelters to make an appointment to learn more about the animal they are interested in adopting, arrange an e-meet and greet online and complete adoption paperwork digitally.

The OSPCA will then set an appointment for the adopter to pick up their animal. New protocols are in place to make sure  physical distancing is maintained to limit contact but also have team members there to see that animal off with their new family and answer any questions.
