City of Pembroke to Restrict Use of Water Due to Drought
Water is to be used sparingly, according to the City of Pembroke.
Effective immediately, the City of Pembroke has moved to restrict water to essential use only They ask the public to refrain from watering lawns or gardens during the drought conditions. They say the use of water in this way is taxing the city’s ability to treat its water. The city says that if the situation continues, it will have to put a boil water advisory in place.
The City of Pembroke says water use will be enforced by by-law officers. They say anyone who breaks water use by-laws could be subject to fines or penalties.
