A retired Renfrew couple is struggling to get home from Mexico after their RV went up in flames while on their way to Belize.
Former owners of Powell Carpets in Renfrew, Tom and Ruth Powell, have been trying to get home since the fire last Thursday.
Tom’s sister Donna Barton says the cats have been holding them back from leaving Mexico.
The couple sold off everything except their home before their trip and lost everything they own in the fire.
