NHA/NHL Museum Refused Bump In Funding

Renfrew council has turned down an attempt by one of the councilors to increase allocation for the NHA/NHL Museum.
Councilor Andrew Evans brought up the proposal to give the organization $15,000 instead of the allocated $9,000, as the budget was being passed.
He argued that the museum was doing a great deal to promote the town and could do more if they had more money.
Council wasn’t completely against the idea, but were unwilling to change the budget right before it was voted on.
One councilor remarked that the museums funding will be going down every year, since the supporters are expected to do more of their own fundraising.
