Canada Day Fireworks Postponed, Grads Congratulated in Letter From MVT Mayor

If fireworks happen in Madawaska Valley, they won’t be happening Canada Day.
Madawaska Valley Mayor Kim Love has said in a letter that the decision to postpone the Canada Day Fireworks was a tough one for Council. However, with safety in mind, the township will now tentatively hold the fireworks on Labour Day Weekend. They say that the township will continue to monitor public health advice for future events.
The mayor also took the time to congratulate all 2020 graduates both at local institutions and those who went abroad to study. She said that 2020 has been a unique year for all students who had to switch in-class learning for remote and online classes.  Mayor Love said that 2020 will definitely become part of history.
Mayor Love also reminded residents of the hazardous waste day coming up on July 4th.
