The Pembroke District Office of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has issued a watershed statement for Renfrew County.
The spring thaw prompted them to warn the public of flooding, and to exercise caution when around fast moving rivers and streams.
The MNRF says that the water content in the snow across Renfrew County varies from average to above average.
They say it is a good time to check sump pumps and to secure items so they don’t float away as the water rises.
