The Township of Madawaska Valley has returned to a level 1 fire ban.
The Madawaska Valley Fire Department says that due to prolonged rain and cool temperatures, campfires and fireworks will be allowed. The department says that a camp fire may not be larger that two feet by two feet. They also remind residents that it will take a few days to have the signs changed over.
The following are not allowed at this time in MV Township
- Burning of brush or brush/leave piles or other yard waste
- Burning of grass
- NO OPEN AIR BURNING
- NO DAYTIME BURNING IS PERMITTED FROM APRIL 1ST TO OCTOBER 31ST
- All fire permits are suspended and none will be issued
