Renfrew Council has been challenged by Renfrew Collegiate to participate in this year’s Relay For Life.
Students also asked council to challenge other municipalities in the area to join in to compete for bragging rights.
The municipal committee that raises the most money will be presented with a trophy and celebrated as champions until next year.
RCI is no stranger to fundraising for Relay for Life, as this is their 10th year participating.
They have raised nearly $800,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society and are hoping to reach a million this year.
Council has verbally accepted the challenge and are trying to figure out who else to challenge
