Partial Fire Bans Still In Place Some Renfrew County Townships

With the provincial Restricted Fire Zone lifted many townships in Renfrew County are still issuing fire bans locally.

As of 12:01 a.m. Saturday, May 16th here is what IS allowed in Madawaska Valley, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan, Bonnechere Valley, and North Algona Wilberforce townships townships:

  • Campfires in designated fire pits
  • Fireworks
  • Propane fire pits
  • BBQ’s

Here is what is NOT allowed in Madawaska Valley, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan, Bonnechere Valley, and North Algona Wilberforce townships:

  • Burning of brush or brush/leave piles or other yard waste
  • Burning of grass 
  • NO OPEN AIR BURNING
  • NO DAYTIME BURNING IS PERMITTED FROM APRIL 1ST TO OCTOBER 31ST
  • All fire permits are suspended and none will be issued

As of 12:01 a.m. Saturday, May 16th in Laurentian Valley Township here IS what allowed:

  • Recreational campfires with a permit day or night (can be applied for online on the township’s website)
  • Fireworks
  • Propane fire pits
  • BBQ’s

Here is what is NOT allowed in Laurentian Valley Township:

  • NO OPEN AIR BURNING OF ANY KIND
  • All fire permits for open air burning have been suspended and none will be issued
