Ontario has added another 428 new cases of COVID-19.  That brings the total number of cases to 21,922.

A reporting glitch in data yesterday did not capture 87 new cases, therefore making it appear that yesterday’s reported number was the lowest number in six weeks.  The missing 87 cases from yesterday have been added into today’s number, which adds up to 428 but had yesterday’s data been correct today’s new case count would be 341. Health Minister Christine Elliott tweeted about the “glitch” just before today’s numbers were posted to the Ministry website (see below).

There have been 27 more deaths bringing that total to 1,825.

Recoveries continue to increase with another 437 cases considered resolved, which is almost 76-percent since the pandemic began.

The Ministry of Health has hit a milestone having tested over a half million people for the virus.  Of those tests over 488,919 have returned negative for COVID-19.
