Petawawa Weighs in On Extrication on Highway 17

The Township of Petawawa is considering offering their assistance to Head, Clara and Maria to cover extrication along Highway 17.
Last year, the township of Head, Clara and Maria dissolved the North Renfrew Emergency Rescue Unit.
That leaves a 30 kilometer stretch of highway exposed without any heavy extrication, more commonly known as the Jaws of Life.
Head, Clara and Maria approached Petawawa council to request they back up other communities to provide the service.
Deputy Mayor Tom Mohns says they will probably end up playing a supporting role in a much larger resolution to the issue.
Head, Clara and Maria has also sent a request to the Ontario Liberals to provide services since Highway 17 is a provincial asset.
