Possible Flooding In Bancroft Area

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has released a watershed statement for the Bancroft area.
The MNRF says soil surfaces are still mostly frozen, and as a result of melting snow and rain, could increase the flow of water in local streams and rivers.
Flooding could ensue in places near waterways, ditches or areas with poor drainage.
The MNRF says residents in the Bancroft district should keep a close watch of conditions, and those who have a history of flooding in their homes should take appropriate precautions.
This includes making sure your sump pump is working, and to secure any item that could float away should water levels rise.
The MNRF says it is monitoring the weather and watershed conditions, and will provide updates as they become available.
