With Covid-19 changing the way business is done, several local businesses are stepping up to support local organizations and workers.

Madawaska Coffee is encouraging patrons to sponsor snacks and coffee for local businesses providing essential services like Lorraine’s Pharmasave, Barry’s Bay Post Office, Workers at Bank of Montreal, Northern Credit Union, MVACL, Home Hardware, Metro, Yuill’s Valumart and St. Francis Memorial Hospital. They say they will match all donations made. They say to sponsor, you can visit their cafe in Barry’s Bay or call them at 613-756-5656.

In addition, Yuill’s Valumart and Barry’s Bay Metro are working with Local Girl Guides to bring cookies in on their behalf. Derek Yuill says that because girl guides cannot go out and sell cookies, they would otherwise loose out on their biggest source of funding. Both companies will put 100% of the profits to Girl Guides Canada.
