The Township of Laurentian Valley is looking into its recreation needs to address dwindling volunteer numbers.
The attrition in volunteers has led to the township having to consider cancelling some events.
The idea of hiring a summer student was presented to council earlier this week with a hopes of compiling data and produce a recreational needs study.
The lack of a recreation staff within the township has been a frustration for several recreation associations on more than one occasion.
The final goal would be for the study to inform council if they need to appoint a rec coordinator.
