The Killaloe Community Resource Centre has received $10000 in emergency food aid money.

The Center says they have received the money from Community Food Centres Canada’s Good Food Access Fund. The CRC says they will use the money to purchase and distribute gift cards to local residents in need so they can purchase food. Bil Smith, executive director of the centre, said the money came into the group’s hands very quickly. Smith says that the funding was applied for early last week and the money became available a few days later. The money will be used directly to buy gift cards, which will be used in the community of Killaloe, Hagarty, Richards and beyond.

Smith says many new challenges have come about from the COVID-19 pandemic. He says the CRC will work to increase availability and access to healthy foods.
