Renfrew County public elementary teacher now have a new three year contract.
There are about 18 months left in the contract since they are already half way through it.
The biggest issue in hammering out the new deal centered on a completely different staffing model.
According to the Superintendent of Education – Employee Services, Dennis Jenkins, the new contract was needed.
He also pointed out that French teachers are now required to have five years experience teaching before they can be considered for the job.
