Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the County of Renfrew has declared a state of emergency.
The state of emergency was declared yesterday at 2 PM. The County is working directly with the health unit and local municipalities to make sure all measures are being taken to protect residents, staff and visitors. The County says the declaration of emergency will help maintain essential services and address the increasing threat of Covid-19, evoking the emergency response plan and its emergency operation centre. It also allows for the county to take measures to protect residents in county-run long term care homes. The county also reminds residents that County of Renfrew buildings will not allow walk-in access.
The county is also urging anyone who lives in Renfrew County and has a non-emergency health concern to call their family physician office. If they don’t have a family physician or cannot access them, the say residents can call the new Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre. You can contact them at 1-844-727-6404 or by clicking here.
Warden Debbie Robinson is asking residents to stay at home and follow the directions of the Health Unit, Provincial and federal governments so that county of Renfrew residents are best prepared to protect their health.
