The Ontario government is waiving Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) payments for employers.

Premier Doug Ford says the payments will be deferred for six months for all businesses in the province.

Minister of Labour, Training, and Skills Development Monte McNaughton says the government is doing everything it can to help business, “By making this change today, we are building upon the substantial financial help we are providing business owners and workers. The top priority is to keep people safe.”

Employers will not have to apply for the exemption it will be automatic.  Interest will not be charged on outstanding payments and there will be no penalties for the six-month period.
