MP Gallant Under Fire

A fundraising pitch from Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MP Cheryl Gallant has people upset that she used a photo of Corporal Nathan Cirillo while peddling hams in exchange for money.
The email was sent out to supporters with an all caps subject line that read TERRORISTS IN OUR MIDST.
In it she attacked immigration policies that were set out by the Liberal government, specifically the fast tracking of refugee citizenship and the reversal of the bill that removed citizenship for those convicted of terrorist acts.
NDP MP Charlie Angus weighed in on the fundraising pitch on his Facebook account.
He called the email distasteful and he feels that the War Memorial tragedy should stand for something more than a politician trying to cash in with ham sales.
Corporal Nathan Cirillo was killed in 2014 at his post when a gunman stormed Parliament Hill.
