The Bancroft OPP is reminding drivers about safe driving habits in its latest public service announcement.
Constable Brian Goodwin says there is research to showing drivers who use cell phones are four times more likely to get into a collision.
When drivers take their eyes of the road for more than two seconds, their risk of a crash doubles.
Goodwin says there are some simple steps you can take to avoid being distracted while driving.
Goodwin says you should also plan your route, set your GPS before leaving, and avoid distractions like reading maps, eating, grooming or looking after your children or pets behind the wheel.
