MPP Yakabuski Proposing Bill To Prevent Domestic Abuse

The pursuit of legislation to prevent domestic violence continues for a local MPP.
MPP for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke John Yakabuski says bill 130, a private members bill he has put forward, has passed second reading and is now sitting in committee.
The murder of three women in Wilno inspired him to put forward the bill, which would let parole boards grant police the ability to track released criminals with electronic monitors.
Criminals would also not be allowed to be released if they dont sign court orders to stay away from past victims.
He says he has been in talks with the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services and the Attorney general.

Yakabuski says these are only some pieces to a big puzzle, but are pieces nonetheless.
