Sewer rates in Cobden will be going up more than expected this year.
Initially the hike was only supposed to be five percent this year, but is being raised 12.8 percent.
Translated to dollars, residents can see their bill shoot up almost $87 to just over $190 per year.
The exit of several commercial users as well as an unplanned increase in service calls last year.
Included with the fee hikes is a flat fee for temporarily shutting down services.
The price will be 20 percent of the normal cost.
Temporary shut offs will now only be considered if over three months.
