If you are a charitable organization in Renfrew County and need a financial boost, the Pembroke-Petawawa District Community Foundation wants to hear from you.

They say charitable organizations can now apply for their general or bereavement grants. They say this year up to $10,000 in grand money is available. They say charities need to submit letters of intent by February 29th, and full applications by March 14th. Organizations must also have a charitable number recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Chair of the granting committee Wendy Hewitt says that the organization’s annual grants have been used for a variety of unique projects in the past. They say that a lot of these projects would not have been possible without the grant’s funds. The foundation says grants are made possible through the investments of funds which earn interest throughout the year. They say without touching the principle, the foundation can fund many new charities throughout Renfrew County.

Former recipients of grants include the Community Resource Centre in Killaloe, the Eganville and District Senior Citizens Needs Association, and the Streetlight Theater Company.

Application forms can be found here.
