A big Fundraising event will go down at the Paul J Yakabuski centre on February 15th.
Girl’s Night Out will happen from 5-10 PM with a lot of local businesses, a DJ, live music and dancing, food and open bar. Ann Maika Chartrand, one of the organizers of the event, says the timing is no accident. She said around this time of year people are looking to go get out of the house, and this event is a perfect place to get out, network and hang out with friends. She also says the event is a great way to support a local cause. She says there have been a lot of vendors sign up already, with the bulk of them being local. Chartrand says she has hosted similar events in the past that saw as many as 300 attendees.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted at the door for the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation. Chartrand says that a portion of the table fees will go towards the Foundation as well. She says that the Foundation is something everyone relies on, and so raising funds for it is important to her.
