Seniors Dental care just got a lot easier in Barry’s Bay.
The Renfrew County District Health Unit has announced they will be opening a senior’s detnal treatment clinic in the spring of this year. The new clinic is funded by the Ministry of Health and the Rainbow Valley Community Health Centre. The clinic will be located in the St. Francis Memorial Hospial.
Acting medical officer Dr. Robert Cushman says the new clinic will be eligible for seniors who live in Barry’s Bay, Killaloe and the surrounding areas. The move comes as the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program will offer routine dental care for eligible low-income seniors. The OSDCP will offer a range of services like cleanings, fillings and extractions, to Ontarians over age 65 and over with a net income of 19 thousand dollars or less. Applications to the program can be found here, or at the Hospital
Randy Penny, Chief Executive of the St. Francis Memorial Hospital says the clinic will enhance the services offer to low income seniors at a hospital that is already a healthcare hub.
