Renfrew County SPCA and Animal centre is hoping you can use cupcakes to help animals.

With National Cupcake day coming up on February 24th, the SPCA is launching a fundraising drive. They ask people to register online and then throw a cupcake party on any date in January and February, and use it to raise donations for the SPCA. They say that if you can’t throw a party, you can deliver cupcakes in exchange for a donation as well.

Two cupcake parties are being held in the area on January 25th. One takes place at the Petawawa civic centre, raising money for the Renfrew County Animal Centre celebrating Cabin Fever 2020. Another is being held at the Pembroke Mall from 10am to 3pm. The SPCA says both events will have special activities and will help raise funds for local animals in need.

SPCA Renfrew County Manager Amanda Eckersley says that getting involved and hosting a party or making a donation will help raise critically needed funds for the animal hospital.
