A chunk of ice from an uncleared car roof has a local driver urging people to wipe the snow off their car.

Martin Burger of Cobden was driving with his son on Highway 17 last Thursday when a chunk of ice flew off an oncoming vehicle. The chunk broke through the the car’s windshield, hitting Burger in the face. His son called 911 and he was transported to Renfrew Victoria Hospital. Burger suffered injuries to his right eye, eyelid and forehead, which required twelve stitches in total. He is expected to make a full recovery.

In a Facebook post, he urged people to fully clean the snow off the top of their cars to avoid causing what happened to him. His post, which he hopes will prevent another misfortune, has already been shared over 75 thousand times.
